Energiya Hosts Ethiopian Visitors

On Thursday, July 30th 2015, Energiya Global had the honor of hosting a coalition of Ethiopian University Presidents and the Ethiopian Minister of Education, his Excellency Ato Demeke Mekonnen, at our office in Jerusalem.

As part of our mission to provide electricity to countries in Africa (as a founder of Power: Africa), Energiya hopes to work with these universities in developing solar fields as part of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) investments.

While our guests were here, COO Weldon Turner gave a brief run-down of who Energiya Global is and how our projects work; this included a time-line of events, beginning with land analyzing and acquisition, PPA (Power Purchase Agreements) negotiations, and actual field development.

Overall, our meeting was a success; the university presidents got a feel for what the potential investment and opportunities are, and were able to ask questions for clarification.
We look forward to interacting with the Minister of Education, university presidents, and Ethiopian government and power companies in the near future!
